My name is Lauren and I am a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho and I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be posting quotes, scriptures, mormon messages, the blessings in my daily life and much much more. This blog is a way for me to keep learning and to share with people what I know so that it sticks with me a little bit better.
" But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" - 1 Peter 2:9

Today was hard. I was negative I feel and tried a lot today and I don’t know if I really “endured it well”. Anyways I am thankful for patience. Some how I have patience and I am not sure where that comes from, but I am thankful I do.
Jeffery R. Holland
7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
9 Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.
Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-9
CYMB [Count your many blessings] - 9th edition.
This is for Sunday, sorry I have skipped a couple days. These are my last couple days at home for a while and I am thankful for family. [Even though mine are CRAZY] I love them to pieces. Last night my niece and nephew spent the night and we had fun. I also made dinner for my family. Teriyaki chicken salad sandwiches, sweet potato french fries and salad. Then a dessert that my brother… and I quote said, “Lauren, this is the best thing to happen to my life. You could… you should sell this!!!” Lol he is way great. My family is way great. They lift me up, they give me what I need. Even though I am exhausted from the slumber party and my back is killing from all this cooking, I wouldn’t have changed it. I feel so accomplished and loved. I love them so much.

I am catching up on a friends blog who is serving as a sister missionary in London England. It is all her emails home… and let me tell you… her experiences are incredible.
Getting me pumped up all over again to get going and turn my papers in and get my call. March 8th can not come fast enough.
That any BYU/BYUI/BYUH/LDSBC hopeful should know: [You will also see an example of the context or how it would be used in a sentence. :P]
Premi: Pre-missionary
NCMO: Non committal make out (Avoid these, they are just bad situations)
The Y: Brigham Young University - Provo (lovingly referred to as BYU-South by us BYU- Idahoers. :P)
BYU-I do: Brigham Young University - Idaho
The U: University of Utah
Holy War: The U vs The Y football game happens every year
DTR: Determine The Relationship
Devo: Devotional - Held 11 am on Tuesdays at BYU and 2 pm on Tuesdays at BYU-I. The devotionals are similar to firesides and have guest speakers, sometimes even general authorities. [Sorry I do not know what time they are held in Hawaii.]
Devo Date: When you meet up with someone of the opposite sex and sit by them at devo. Sometimes holding hands or scratching each others backs or resting your head on each others shoulder. [Very common in Idaho]
Molly Mormon: Good girls that do everything right and usually hold high callings and get 100% on their visiting teaching and modest. [Really it should be a compliment to be called this I think]
Peter Priesthood: The guy version of the Molly Mormon
RM: Return Missionary, someone who has come home from a mission and usually one of the ones that the girls go after.
MTC: Missionary Training Center, the main one is located next to the Provo campus and missionaries go there to be trained and then leave for their mission.
Now some things that just apply to BYU-Idaho.
